As a psychotherapist, I treat behavioral health issues primarily through the utilization of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Using this treatment approach, I work with each individual to teach them to be their own therapist. Therapy is time-limited, goal-oriented and solution focused. This psycho-therapeutic approach will assist the individual to improve their mood and solve problems. These are tools the individual can use now, but also for the rest of their life. Both the therapist and the individual in treatment bring unique and valuable roles. The individual is an expert on themselves, and the therapist brings knowledge and understanding of human behavior as well as skills to reduce suffering and improve life satisfaction. Ultimately, the therapist strives to incorporate understanding, collaboration interpersonal effectiveness and professionalism in the therapeutic relationship.
